The Proto-Xenomorph (Deacon) is a humanoid alien species that spawned on the planet LV-223 in the movie Prometheus. It bears many resemblances to the Xenomorph Alien from the Alien franchise.

Covenant
It is speculated upon that the engineers may have somehow supported the Deacon in its evolution between Prometheus and Alien, as the creature seen in Alien varies greatly from its LV-223 counterpart. It's also said that the engineers may have been involved in finishing the creation of the creature.
Biology
The Deacon is a humanoid creature that first spawned from an adult Trilobite attaching itself to and impregnating an Engineer host. The creature is speculated to be the earlier, less evolved version of the creature seen in the film Alien.
