Proper Games was formed in 2006 following the closure of Visual Science.

In April 2009 Proper Games' first commercial product Flock! was published by Capcom on XBLA, PSN, Steam, and Microsoft Windows.

Proper Games' first emulation title, Final Fight: Double Impact, was published by Capcom in April 2010 on XBLA and PSN to positive reviews.

In June 2010 Proper Games announced during E3 that they would be collaborating with another Dundee developer, Ruffian Games, on the premium downloadable content (PDLC) for Crackdown 2.
