Procranioceras is an extinct genus of Artiodactyla, of the family Palaeomerycidae, endemic to North America from the Miocene epoch, 16.3—13.6 Ma, existing for approximately 2.7 million years.

Taxonomy

Cranioceras (Procranioceras) skinneri was named by Frick (1937), as a sub-genus. It was reranked as Procranioceras by Janis and Manning (1998) and Prothero and Liter (2007). It was assigned to Cranioceras by Frick (1937); to Dromomerycidae by Janis and Manning (1998); and to Cranioceratini by Prothero and Liter (2007)

Body mass

A single specimen of Procranioceras were measured by M. Mendoza, C. M. Janis, and P. Palmqvist for body mass.
