History
ProProfs acquired its first customer in 2010. The company’s first product was its free quiz making tool, which was initially targeted at students. It gradually expanded its market and products to include teachers, professionals and organizations and switched to the freemium business model, providing its basic tools for free with upgrades available to users.
ProProfs was founded by Sameer Bhatia, an ed-tech veteran and a serial internet entrepreneur. His academic background is in technology with a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC).
The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA with other locations in Santa Monica, CA and Delhi / NCR (Regional Offices).
In Feb 2015, ProProfs acquired HelpIQ, a knowledge base software company that allows users to create online documents and user guides. It also acquired a Live Chat software called Live2Support in January 2016.
