Prakash Bhoma Gujar (born 8 May 1956) is also known as Aabasaheb and Prakash Aaba. He is a Shirpur social activist and politician from Shirpur Taluka. He began his social activism at an early age when he took part in the Shirpur Politics. He represents the Shirpur of Maharashtra and is a member of the Indian National Congress political party. He was also a Chairman of the K. Annasaheb Bipinchandra Bhoma Patil G.B.S. Patsanstha Ghodasgaon. And well-wisher of Ghodasgaon.   • Career

    After droping From College, instead of going for College, Prakash Gujar chose to do politics,social activist,farming in his Ghodagaon village. Banana cultivation in Dhule,Jalgaon district started around 1930. Initially traditional farming methods like flood irrigation, sucker planting etc. were being used to grow banana crops. Aabasaheb uses Grand Nain and shrimanti, Mahalaxmi varieties, Jain Tissue of banana to grow in his farm. After his successful experimentation, he arranged hundreds of farmer meetings all over Shirpur Talukha to spread awareness about high-tech methods of banana cultivation. He advocated agronomic practices like soil testing, planting tissue culture plants, drip irrigation to conserve water, fertigation which resulted in control of weeds, lower labour cost and increase in per plant yield of banana bunch from 15 kg to nearly 40 kg. he was elected 4 times as Chairman of Krishi Utpann Baajaar Samiti (Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee), Shirpur.
