Pradeep Mulye is the well-known set and light designer working mainly in Marathi theatre. Pradeep Mulye has designed sets for over 150 plays and has been involved with theatre production since 1979. He has worked with top directors in Marathi theatre and his sense of design and Aesthetics have won him a critical appreciation for several productions. He has also worked as an actor, has sung for the theatre, and has designed costumes too.
He receives several prestigue awards such as the Maharashtra State Awards, Natyadarpan Puraskar, Kala Gaurav, Indian Television Academy Awards, MICTA Award ( Marathi International Film & Theatre Awards), Maai Award (Marathi Achievement And Award ). Recently,in October 2016 he received 'Sangeet Natak Akademi' awards from President Pranab Mukherjee for Allied Theatre Arts–Scenic Design.
He involved for some best productions such as 'Indu Kaleva Sarala Bhole', 'Sare Pravasi Ghadiche', 'Dry Day', etc.

A Print media Campaign for leprosy awareness was awarded the Gold-Medal at the Annual Exhibition of Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art in 1979.
Trained in the fields of Cinematography, Direction, and Art Direction in Film City, Mumbai, from 1979 to 1982.
Worked as a Freelance Advertising Photographer for well known ad agencies such as Lintas, HTA, Rediffussion, Mudra, Everest etc.from 1982 to 1990.
Pradeep Mulye designed a light and Sound show called 'Discovery of India' for New India Assurance Ltd. in 1984 Art-Direction & Costume Designed for a TV serial ' Stree Jatak' ( Marathi ) in 1992 and ‘LifeLine' Hindi for U.T.V. Both directed by Pratima Kulkarni in 1995.
He directed and Art-directed the TV serial based on Dance Drama ' Durga Zali Gauri’ in 1988.
He directed and Art-directed 'Shitu', a full-length Tele Film in Konkani, based on a wellknown Marathi novel by Go.Ni.Dandekar in 1994.
He designed and directed a highly acclaimed & spectacular children's Dance-Drama 'Raja Sinh' based on 'Lion King'.
He designed and directed 'Indu Kale va Sarala Bhole', an Theatrical presentation of a milestone Marathi novel by the same name by Waman Malhar Joshi. It was produced by ‘Awishkar’ in 2003.
He designed and directed a dramatised version of ‘Sare Prawasi Ghadiche’ an adaption by Shafaat Khan of a Marathi novel by Jaywant Dalvi. It was produced by ‘Suyog’ in 2009.
He designed & directed a Marathi play ‘Dry Day’ by Shafaat Khan, produced by ‘Awishkar’ in 2013.
He has been interviewed extensively by Print media and Electronic media,highlighted by an Interview in Rang-Antarang a Theatre Development Project, NCPA and Sea-Gull Theatre Quarterly.
He was part of curation and editorial team for 'Rangnayak', a book on the life and works of Arwind Deshpande. And 'Ten Aani Amhi' a collection of articles by various Theatre personalities, on the works of Vijay Tendulkar.
He has been working on Marathi Stage, both experimental and professional, in various capacities such as Production, Direction, Acting, Set Designing, Stage Lighting and Costumes Designing etc. During which, he was fortunate enough to train under and work with stalwarts such as Guru Parvatikumar, Damu Kenkre, Vijay Tendulkar, Arvind Deshpande, Pt. Satyadeva Dubey etc.
