PowerGenix is a San Diego-based company developing rechargeable batteries, Nickel-zinc (NiZn) and recycling batteries. Nickel-Zinc are generally viewed much safer than Nickel-cadmium. Cadmium is banned in the EU, Toys R Us and Mattel. Their high power-to-size ratio batteries are used in objects as varied as GPS systems, hand-held games consoles and remote-controlled units.
