Development
In September 2016, Wunderbar Films made an announcement that Dhanush would immediately begin work on his first directorial venture featuring Rajkiran in the lead role. Titled Power Paandi, a first look poster featuring the actor was released to the media, while Sean Roldan and Velraj joined the project as its music director and cinematographer respectively. Sean Roldan is the soul of Power Pandi, says the director.
Casting
Actresses Revathi and Chaya Singh agreed to work on the film, while actor Prasanna was signed to portray Rajkiran's son.
Filming
The film began production on the day of its public announcement.
Soundtrack
Power Paandi (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the upcoming film Power Paandi. The score was composed by Sean Roldan released on 9 March 2017. The lyrics were penned by Dhanush and directors Selvaraghavan and Raju Murugan.
