Poo-Pourri (stylized as Poo~Pourri) is a fragrance company that develops and markets deodorising toilet sprays. The company's products consist of a blend of essential oils and other natural compounds claimed by the manufacturer to create a protective film on the surface of the water in a toilet bowl that keeps odors contained. History

Poo~Pourri was founded in 2007 after a nine months of testing different formulas. After Suzy Batiz created a formula that worked, she and her husband Hector bootstrapped the company using $25,000 of their money to begin manufacturing their product. In its first six years doing business the company relied heavily on word of mouth advertising.

In 2013, the company debuted its Girls Don't Poop advertisement which was viewed more than 31 million times. In April 2014, the company reported their product had been made available in 9,000 stores, such as CVS, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ulta, ACE and True Value.

As of January 2016, it was reported that the company had sold over 17 million bottles of Poo~Pourri since 2007. In October 2016, the company launched a online film division called Number 2 Productions and released an ad titled How to Poop at a Party. In 2016, it was reported that Poo-Pourri was a $300 million company.

Recognition

USA Today ranked the company's "Girls Don't Poop" ad as one of the worst ads of 2013.

In May 2014, Poo~Pourri won People's Voice Award in the 18th Annual Webby Awards in the Consumer Goods category, and Edison Award in the Innovative Services category. That same year, Giuliana Rancic chose Poo~Pourri as her top gift for coworkers in her Holiday Gift Guide on E! News. The company was listed on the Inc. 5,000 list in 2015 and 2016, and its product was included in the publication's 27 Coolest Products from the 2016 Inc. 5000 list. Poo~Pourri was named as one of Kathy Lee Gifford's favorite things on the Today Show in November 2016.
