The Pontifical Delegation for the Basilicas of Saint Francis and Saint Mary of the Angels in Assisi is the office, vested in a Pontifical Legate, that represents the Holy See in the administration of the pontifical minor basilicas in Assisi.

History

It was founded on 8 August 1969, as Pontifical Delegation for the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.

It was given its present name on 21 February 2006, when it was also put in charge of the neighboring Papal Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels in Assisi in Assisi.
