PolymerUpdate is a news and media portal headquartered in India that specializes in providing market-moving information and pricing data on petrochemical products and industrial polymers.

History
Polymerupdate came into existence in 1999 and is the brainchild of Sajjid Mitha who, after years of experience in trading in polymers, recognized the need of a standardized portal that could be resorted to as a benchmark across all polymer markets in India. In 2000-2001, Polymerupdate received a shot in the arm when Indian manufacturers of plastic products Brite Group (Brite Automotive and Plastics and Bright Brothers) acquired 15 percent and Polyset Plastics Private Limited acquired a 10 percent stake in the company. Polymerupdate is also an active member of plastics associations like The All India Plastic Manufacturers' Association (AIPMA) and Organization of Plastic Processors of India (OPPI).
Polymerupdate claims to be the first in the world to develop mobile applications for polymer news and prices.
Corporate history
Over the years Polymerupdate has formed strategic alliances with National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd (NCDEX), Polysort LLC, Petrochem Wire, The Plastics Exchange and Quimax and is an active supporter of Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) and The Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC). In 2012, Polymerupdate entered into a strategic partnership with Platts-a division of The McGraw-Hill Financial-and came up with Polymerupdate/Platts Joint Reports-weekly scans on most common polymers.
Services
Polymerupdate currently provides news and pricing information on petrochemical products and industrial polymers from key markets in Asia, Europe, Middle East and the United States. The portal hosts weekly and monthly scans on commonly used polymers and analysis reports based on import data in India in addition to the Polymerupdate/Platts Joints Reports. The Polymerupdate mobile apps are currently available on iPhone and iPad, and BlackBerry and Android platforms. Polymerupdate also provides news alerts on the move through its SMS and instant messaging services.
