Polvijärvi is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. The municipality has a population of 4,528 (31 March 2016) and covers an area of 804.15 square kilometres (310.48 sq mi) of which 154.22 km2 (59.54 sq mi) is water. The population density is 5.63 inhabitants per square kilometre (14.6/sq mi). Neighbouring municipalities are Juuka, Kaavi, Kontiolahti, Liperi Outokumpu.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Polvijärvi is established in 1876.
