Polskie Radio 24 (Polish Radio 24) - radio station established in December 2010 by Informacyjna Agencja Radiowa, which is wholly owned by Polskie Radio, Polish national state-run radio broadcaster.

History

Essentially the program was available exclusively in Internet, but since 1 October 2013 it is available via digital radio (DAB) and since 1 September 2016 it is available on FM - on former Polskie Radio Program IV frequencies.

Programming

The station (as seen in October 2016) consists exclusively of news and spoken-magazines with no music (except from adverts and station ID's). It makes extensive use of Polskie Radio foreign reporters as well as journalists from Polskie Radio regional and local stations, Polskie Radio Program I and Polskie Radio Program III. The Monday to Friday schedule is as follows:

  • 23:00-05:00 GMT, 00:00-06:00 CET: news bulletins and repeats.
  • 05:00-08:00 GMT, 06:00-09:00 CET: breakfast programming.
  • 08:00-16:00 GMT, 09:00-17:00 CET: rolling news and talk.
  • 16:00-17:00 GMT, 17:00-18:00 CET: "Debata dnia", the debate.
  • 17:00-18:00 GMT, 18:00-19:00 CET: "Dzień w gospodarce", the markets summary.
  • 18:00-21:00 GMT, 19:00-22:00 CET: mix of various magazines.
  • 21:00-22:00 GMT, 22:00-23:00 CET: "24 godziny w Polsce i na świecie", day summary (repeat after midnight)
  • 22:00-23:00 GMT, 23:00-00:00 CET: mix of magazines.
  • At weekends the broadcast is more focused at various magazines, but breakfast programming and day summary are in schedule.

    Reception

    The broadcast is available on FM and DAB - the FM transmitters cover 17% of Poland's territory (30% of population), while DAB covers some gaps in the reception, but even though the station has the lowest coverage of four national FM Polskie Radio networks.
