Pizzarev valencia pizza restaurant grand opening party

PizzaRev is a small fast casual chain of franchise pizza restaurants based in Los Angeles, California. The company also has non-franchise, corporate-owned stores. As of September 2016, the company has 46 stores in eleven U.S. states and Mexico. The company was founded in 2012 in Los Angeles by Rodney Eckerman and Irv Zuckerman, and their sons Nicholas Eckerman and Jeff Zuckerman. The company's slogan is "Craft your own!" The company's name, standing for Pizza Revolution, stems from the idea of empowering customers to build their own pizzas.

History

The first PizzaRev location was opened on April 20, 2012 in the Los Angeles community of Northridge, near the campus of California State University, Northridge. A second location was opened five months later in Studio City district of Los Angeles followed by a third location in Woodland Hills in December.

Expanding outside of Los Angeles County, PizzaRev opened its first Ventura County location in Oxnard in August 2013 and its first Orange County location in Santa Ana in August 2014.

The first international location was open in the Mexican city of Monterrey in April 2016.

Fare and operations

Fare includes personal-sized pizzas and customized personal-size pizzas that customers can have prepared with their choice of two crusts, various sauces, cheeses and toppings. Customers queue in a cafeteria-style line when ordering, whereby company employees assemble fresh pizzas to order, after which they are cooked. PizzaRev restaurants include the option of selecting a gluten-free crust. All pizzas are priced at $8.25 each, regardless of how many toppings and ingredients are chosen. Pizzas are cooked in a fire-heated, 900 °F (482 °C) stone hearth pizza oven, which cooks the pizzas in under three minutes. Restaurant operations have been compared and described as similar to that of Chipotle Mexican Grill. PizzaRev restaurants are open during lunch and dinner hours.

Franchising

PizzaRev named Buffalo Wild Wings Inc., which is also a minority stakeholder in PizzaRev, as its first franchisee in August 2013. As such, Buffalo Wild Wings planned to open several PizzaRev stores in Minneapolis, where Buffalo Wild Wings is headquartered. The company has plans to increase its expansion with increased franchising and by opening more corporate-owned locations.

PizzaRev's menu offers five dining options: craft your own pizzas, salads, kids meals, our way pizzas, and desserts. Its menu offers gluten free and vegan options, with the vegan cheese and gluten free dough being an extra charge. Customers first pick either homemade dough or a gluten free crust and as they continue down the line and build their pizza, with 30+ options of sauces, cheeses, meats, and other fresh ingredients. February 2014, all Pizza Rev locations received Coca-Cola Freestyle, which allowed customers to choose from nearly 100 choices of Coca-Cola products. This does not include locations in Mexico, because all locations in Mexico serve Pepsi products. In 2016 the company began selling a new double dough crust at many of its locations. However the menu prices and items will vary depending on the location of the store. Nutrition facts or allergy facts about what any of the toppings contain are listed under the Nutrition Portal on the company's website.
