Pinecrest is a Transitway station in Ottawa, Ontario, that began service on September 6, 2009. The name is due to the station's close proximity to Pinecrest Road. On June 9, 2006, Then-Ottawa Mayor Bob Chiarelli announced an extension of the West Transitway that include a 1.8 kilometre stretch of transitway from Bayshore station to Pinecrest Road including the new station and located near the road previously served as a regular stop for westbound buses such as route 96 and route 101.

This is the first phase out of two that will see the West Transitway be connected to the Southwest Transitway. The first phase was expected to be completed by the end of 2006 but was completed in 2009 with work having started during the summer of 2007.

Service

The station serves both westbound and eastbound buses that previously travelled via highway 417.

Notes

  • Routes 152 and 282 are available at the corner of Greenbank and Iris, just south of Highway 417.
  • Routes 172 and 173 don't enter the station itself, but are available on Pinecrest Road.
