Pimelea flava is a shrub in the family Thymelaeaceae which is endemic to Australia.

There are two subspecies, P. flava subsp. flava (yellow rice-flower) is a shrub which grows up to 2 metres in height and has leaves that are 2 to 10 mm long and 1 to 6 mm wide. The yellow inflorescences have 2 to 4 green bracts which are larger than the leaves. The other subspecies, P. flava subsp. dichotoma (diosma rice-flower) grows to 1 metre high and has white flowers and leathery leaves.

Taxonomy

The species was first formally described by Robert Brown in Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae in 1810.

Distribution

The species occurs in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
