Metabolism
Diprenylated derivatives of piceol can be isolated from Ophryosporus macrodon.
4-Hydroxyacetophenone monooxygenase is an enzyme that transforms piceol into 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid. This enzyme is found in Pseudomonas fluorescens.
Uses
- One known use of Piceol is in the synthesis of Mofoxime.
- A second use is in the synthesis of Pifoxime.
- para-benzoxyacetophenone has known use in the synthesis of Soterenol, mesuprine, sotalol, and metalol.
