Metabolism

Diprenylated derivatives of piceol can be isolated from Ophryosporus macrodon.

4-Hydroxyacetophenone monooxygenase is an enzyme that transforms piceol into 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid. This enzyme is found in Pseudomonas fluorescens.

Uses

  1. One known use of Piceol is in the synthesis of Mofoxime.
  2. A second use is in the synthesis of Pifoxime.
  3. para-benzoxyacetophenone has known use in the synthesis of Soterenol, mesuprine, sotalol, and metalol.
