1977-2010

In the November 2010 state assembly elections, Guljar Devi of JD(U) won the Phulparas assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Virendra Kumar Chaudhary of RJD. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Deo Nath Yadav of SP defeated Bharat Bhusan Mandal of JD(U) in October 2005 and Ram Kumar Yadav of RJD in February 2005. Ram Kumar Yadav of JD(U) defeated Deo Nath Yadav of RJD in 2000. Deo Nath Yadav Congress defeated Ram Kumar Yadav of JD in 1995. Ram Kumar Yadav of JD defeated Deo Nath Yadav of Congress in 1990. Hemlata Yadav of Congress defeated Devendra Prasad Yadav, Independent, in 1985. Surendra Yadav of Janata Party (Secular – Charan Singh) defeated Kripa Nath Pathak of Janata Party (JP). Devendra Prasad Yadav of JP defeated Uttam Lal Yadav of Congress.
