Phoebe Asiyo (born September 12, 1930) is a former parliamentarian, ambassador to UNIFEM, mother, grandmother and Luo elder. She has dedicated her life to improving the political arena in Kenya and the role of women. She is fondly called Mama Asiyo and is an advocate for the girl child and those affected by the HIV epidemic.

Pre 2000

Hon. Phoebe Asiyo was elected to the parliament from the Karachuonyo seat in 1980 and held the seat till 1983. Elected back to the parliament in 1992 once the multi party system came into being, she continued to serve till 1997. She holds the distinction of being one of the longest serving women in parliament in Kenya.

She was the UNIFEM ambassador between 1988 and 1992

Post 2000

Part of the delegation to Uganda to push for the participation of women in the peace talks in Uganda

Currently serves as chair of Caucus for Women's Leadership
