Gill began boxing at the age of 18 in the army and had his first professional fight on 5 March 2009, he is currently managed by London based promoter Mickey Helliet and is trained by Paul Rees at the Monster Gym.
On Sunday 25 July 2010 Gill completed a 13 mile assault course in order to raise money for Cityboxer charity Kidsgloves that provides opportunities for under privileged young people from Southwark and Lambeth.
On 11 September Gill defeated Damien Turner at the York Hall, Bethnall Green. Gill won every round of the fight as well as scoring a knockdown in the fourth round.
