2009

Originally known as Petrozavodsk Kongs, the team played their first game at Spartak Stadium. The players did not know the rules well and they even did not know how to play American football. In July they tried to make a team and get players, but they had trouble. The team did not have a home field and they had no permanent team roster. In August they got a few players and started playing. In September, half of the players of the Petrozavodsk Kongs made a new team and called it the Petrozavodsk Giants. Thus began a rivalry between the Kongs and Giants. The Kongs had more success than the Giants. But the teams' future was still in doubt. In October, they finished their games and got a rest. One of the Giants' key players, Arseniy Kodyukov, decided to join the Kongs because of conflicts with the Giants' quarterback, Vladislav Remizov. In December, the Kongs and Giants returned and started planning their future. The Kongs' players decided to get more players and make a permanent team roster. On December 27, the Petrozavodsk Giants changed their name to Petrozavodsk Stonks.

2010
