Born in Berkel and based out of Rotterdam, Pigmans' music is widely considered one of the most innovative specimens of the gabber genre; while many gabber producers favor raw force and little virtuosity when creating a song, Pigmans' music always had a strong technical side, and his songs often featured atmospherical elements, an unusual thing in the genre at the time. He was also known for his extremely wild live shows.

In 1999, Pigmans received a brain cancer diagnosis. On July 18, 2003, at Hemkade stadium in Zaandam, his peers in the Dutch music industry hosted "3 Steps Ahead 4 Life," a benefit event aimed at supporting his treatment. Top figures from the Dutch gabber music scene performed without charge, dedicating all proceeds to his healthcare in hopes of facilitating his recovery, while also honoring his contributions. Sadly, Pigmans passed away a few weeks following the event. In remembrance, the annual Thunderdome festival commenced with a minute of silence dedicated to him two months after his passing.

He's been elected into the Thunderdome Hall of Fame.
