Peter Ekberg (born 1972) is a Swedish author, teacher and philosopher.

Biography

Peter Ekberg studied the cognitive philosophy at the University of Gothenburg called "Models of human thought" and works as a philosophy teacher at a senior high school/gymnasium in central Gothenburg. Ekberg's philosophical studies include classical philosophical problems, logic and formal methods, philosophy of mind, semantics, epistemology, analytical (modern) philosophy, artifciell intelligence, representation and memory in neural networks and cognition theory. He also studied pedagogy and didactics, astronomy, physics, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, history of science and ideas - and human ecology at the same university.

In 2007 Ekberg was accepted for graduate studies in philosophy. The planned dissertation deals with the imagination (Mental imagery, and dynamic imagery).

His first book, "Think for yourself! - An inspirational book for young philosophers" was published in 2009 by Bonnier Carlsen Publishing. Illustrated by Swedish illustrator and author Sven Nordqvist. The book is produced for several countries during 2010: The German version from Oetinger Verlag is entitled "Kann ich Wissen, was ich weis?", The Danish version from ABC publishers is entitled "Taenk selv!", and the Korean version is produced by Gimm-Young-publishers. A Russian version is available in 2011.

Ekberg was in 2010 nominated for "Slangbellan" an award founded by the children and youth section of the Writers Union for best debut book in the children - youth category.

He is now working on his second book. It will be out in autumn 2011. A third book is scheduled for release in 2012. Peter Ekberg has written and published articles in magazines since 2003.
