History

Pete made his name as the singer-songwriter of the disbanded, yet still talked about London rock group Ivory Circus.

Always marching to his own beat, Gowdy dropped out of college and found his calling in songwriting. In his own words, he began to "obsessively" write songs, spending countless hours honing the intricacies of melody, lyric, and structure.

After penning close to a thousand songs, he threw himself into the London music scene, where he played with various bands, and started to attract music industry attention

In 2009, Gowdy's song "Turning on My Radio" won XFM London Radio's band competition by a "landslide",

Building on the radio success, the group quickly built a following in the London club circuit and before long, large crowds came to see them at top venues such as the Clapham Grand, the London Astoria, and Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush

Just as offers were starting to come in, and things began to look bright for the band, Ivory Circus broke up when a few of the members splintered in different directions.

Gowdy has embarked on a solo path, with songs already being played on BBC6 Radio. He is currently working on new material/projects, and has produced other bands as well.

In November 2010, Gowdy was profiled by influential music taste-maker FUTURE SOUNDS, which said that after hearing his music "you might conclude that Gowdy was an overlooked gem of the roaring ’60’s on Carnaby Street."
