Peer Productions is a youth arts charity which specialises in peer education through theatre, based at Woking Youth Arts Centre in Woking, Surrey, England.

The charity runs a free full-time one year actor training course for young actors aged 17 – 23 years, an extensive youth theatre for young people aged 7–25 years and a range of community projects.

Each year the company tour plays and delivers workshops in schools and community settings reaching in the region of 10,000 young people each year.

The full time course

Peer Productions' one-year course is for young actors and those interested in drama and education. During the course, students learn skills needed to succeed in the performing arts sector and have the opportunity to take part in productions and community projects.

Students learn voice, movement, textual analysis, character building, devising and directing techniques as core components of the course. They also receive master classes from industry professionals and where appropriate, coaching for drama school audition speeches.

Access to the course is by audition. The course is free.

Accreditation

Since Peer Productions began the course 2007 the curriculum has developed and accreditation has changed.

2007 - 2013 - Peer Productions' Young Actors undertook an Arts Award Gold Level 3 Certificate.

2013-14 - Peer Productions' Young Actors undertook a Level 3 Community Arts Apprenticeship which included an Arts Award Gold Certificate.

2014-15 - Peer Productions' Young Actors will be undertaking a Level 4 Creative Practitioner Diploma as well as an Arts Award Gold a Certificate.
