Paul Michael Anthony Burden (born 7 July 1945) is a British financial journalist, and a former BBC News presenter, latterly as a financial news presenter on the BBC Breakfast News programme.

Education
Burden was educated at Beaumont College, a Jesuit independent school (also attended by his uncle, Hugh Burden), followed by the London School of Economics (LSE).

In the 1970s, Burden worked as a business reporter at Look North Manchester, which later became Look North West in 1980, then North West Tonight in 1984
From 1983 until 1999, Burden was a familiar face on BBC News as a newsreader, and financial journalist. He had worked on the Today programme and PM on BBC Radio 4.
Personal life
One of Burden's five children is Rachel Burden, the BBC Radio 5 Live breakfast presenter, which she joined in 2003. He has four sons (including two born in 1967 and 1971) He lives in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. He has stood in the Wycombe District Council election, 2015 for the Liberal Democrats for the Marlow North and West ward of Wycombe District, where he was not elected. All three seats for the ward went to the Conservatives. He has previously been on Marlow Town Council for three years.
Burden married Josephine Fagan in 1965.
