Abuse allegations

Driscoll made headlines in late 2014 when she publicly accused former boyfriend, NASCAR driver Kurt Busch, of domestic abuse. She alleged she visited him in his motorhome on September 26, 2014, where an abusive incident transpired. Six weeks later, she reported the incident to police. In December 2014, Driscoll appeared in court to seek a no contact order against Busch, who counterclaimed that Driscoll was a distraught former lover seeking to get back at him for ending their relationship. Though one witness confirmed that Driscoll had made seemingly outlandish claims in the past, such as claiming to be a "trained assassin" who "[takes] down foreign governments," the Family Court of the State of Delaware, David W. Jones, Commissioner ruled on February 20, 2015 in favor of Driscoll's motion for a Petition for an Order of Protection from Abuse (File CK14-02747). On March 5, 2015, it was announced that no criminal charges would be filed against Busch, citing a lack of evidence.

Frontline Defense Systems LLC (FDS) has not done any Government Contracts since March 13, 2012, that being for repair of radio equipment for $32,000. The last major contract for was in September 20, 2010 for $1,921,009. Armed Forces Foundation

Driscoll served as President of the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) from 2003 to 2015.

Patricia Driscoll, the former girlfriend of NASCAR driver Kurt Busch has resigned as executive director of the Armed Forces Foundation on June 15, 2015 in the wake of allegations that she mishandled foundation money, according to ESPN’s Outside the Lines.

FBI and IRS officials began investigating Driscoll and her oversight of the nonprofit, multimillion-dollar foundation following an Outside the Lines report on May 22, 2015. The report detailed a host of questionable practices during her 12-year run leading the Washington, D.C.-based entity, which has ties to multiple sports-related entities and athletes. Driscoll is also facing a federal whistleblower complaint filed by a former foundation employee. The Armed Forces Foundation is a charity that aims to help veterans in need.

ESPN’s Outside the Lines reported in May and June that documents it had reviewed and obtained showed the Armed Forces Foundation had, in effect, been repeatedly used as a bank to lend money for or pay various personal expenses, including bills for a private company Driscoll owns, Frontline Defense Systems LLC (FDS).

In addition, records show that, for 17 months in a 19-month stretch in 2012-13, the foundation paid the credit card bill of Driscoll's private security business, Frontline Defense Systems. The FDS charges totaled more than $100,000 and included massage treatments, dermatology visits and other personal medical expenses, toy store purchases and grocery bills, among others.

After the Outside the Lines reports, Charity Navigator, a website that rates nonprofit entities, withdrew its four-star evaluation of the Armed Forces Foundation and instead placed it on its donor-advisory list.

Brian Cooke, who joined the foundation as chief of staff in 2013, was named by the board as Driscoll's replacement.

Charity Navigator has posted a Donor Advisory for the Armed Forces Foundation because of the recent allegations against Patricia Driscoll and the recent resignation by her from the organization on June 15, 2015.
