Early life and education

Pascal Cagni was born in Cernay (Haut-Rhin), France on October 28, 1961. He obtained an MA in Political Sciences from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris (Sciences Po), an MA in Business Law from the Robert Schumann University in Strasburg, and graduated from HEC Paris in 1986.

Pascal Cagni also attended the Stanford Executive Program (EPCG) in 1997 and participated in the 63rd promotion of the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale (IHEDN) in 2010.
Early career

In 1986, Pascal Cagni joined Booz Allen & Hamilton in Paris and San Francisco, as a management consultant. From 1987, he worked for Compaq France as Marketing Manager before joining Software Publishing Corporation (SPC) as the head of European Marketing and Business Development in 1991.

In 1995, he was hired by Packard Bell to create new R&D, manufacturing and operational divisions. He established a highly successful pan-European sales and marketing structure, and was promoted to Vice President of Europe for Packard Bell in 1997 after its merger with NEC Computer International.
Career
In 2000, Steve Jobs hired Pascal Cagni as General Manager and Vice President of Apple Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Under his tenure, Apple's EMEA region consistently delivered the highest revenue growth rates within Apple for several years. Revenue increased from $1.3bn in 2000 to nearly $40bn in 2012. Following Apple's successful expansion in the high-growth markets of Central Europe, Middle East and Africa, Pascal Cagni was given the additional challenge of managing Apple's fast-growing business in India from 2008.
Pascal Cagni left Apple in October 2012.
In 2014, Pascal Cagni founded C4 Ventures, a European venture capital fund which invests in European startups and later stage companies seeking to expand into European markets. C4 Ventures chooses to focus on three investment themes: Smart Hardware, Future of Commerce and Digital Media. Portfolio companies include Anki, Applicaster, Cleeng, Formlabs, Foursquare, Giroptic, Graphcore, ISKN, MUBI, Nest, Netatmo, Unmade and VIA.
Business life
Pascal Cagni has been an independent director at Banque Transatlantique since 2006, a non-executive director at Kingfisher plc since 2010 and joined Vivendi's Supervisory Board in 2012. In 2015, he joined the Board of Style.com, the Condé Nast-owned ecommerce platform. He is also Chairman at the Hardware Club.
Since 2014, Pascal Cagni has served as a Commissioner for the Global Commission on Internet Governance.
Personal life
Pascal Cagni is married and has four children.
Honours and public recognition
Pascal was made a Knight of the prestigious French Order of Merit in 2006 and a member of the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF).
He is also member of the Cercle d’Outre Manche, a society of business leaders committed to promoting best practices in France and the United Kingdom.
