History
PartsBase, Inc. was founded in 1996 in Houston, Texas. PartsBase, Inc. was known as Partsbase.Com, Inc, and changed its name to PartsBase, Inc. in July 2001. In 2002, PartsBase, Inc. went private, and has remained a private company ever since. In 2008, Lockheed Martin partnered with PartsBase and renewed its membership to the database each subsequent year. The PartsBase community includes other major corporations such as Boeing, Airbus, United Airlines, AAR Corp, and the Lufthansa Group.
PartsBase was developed with the goal to provide the most comprehensive aviation marketplace and community for the aviation, aerospace and defense industries. In 2000, the company had 2,500 suppliers, containing over 23 million line items. As of 2015, PartsBase was recognized for being on pace to acquire over $1 billion in direct quotes. In 2015, PartsBase released a new feature called Quick Quote. QuickQuote is an email-based system that sends information on RFQs to customers.
