Partha Pratim Moitra is a film maker and poet from Barak Valley, Assam.

He is currently the Chief Producer of the government run television channel [Lokasiksha Sanchar], and the Audio-visual Program Consultant to P&RDD, Govt of West Bengal. This Training and Development Communication Channel is a joint collaboration of ISRO and the WB Government.
Partha Pratim Moitra has published four poetry books, Badarpur Junction, Himghar, Palalik Shilalipi and Jalabas Parba, written in Bengali.
He is a self-proclaimed Post Modern Anarchist and has written a number socio-political articles in different Bengali magazines. This changes in his orientation is indebted to two persons; Soumen Guha of Kolkata and Late Dr. Sujit Choudhury of Barak Valley Assam.
Partha Pratim Moitra was a front runner of the Super-8 Film Movement in Assam, and made his maiden film Asraf Alir Swadesh, the first movie ever made in Barak Valley, Assam. He also directed Din-Shuru: The Birth of an Indian Carnival, produced by Paxvision and Kinetica of England. Pre-production, Production, Post-Production was done by Maya-B, Kolkata. This film has got a worldwide acclamation and in the process of being sold to a premier TV channel for world premier. Shambhudhan Phonglowsa, produced by Autonomous Hill District Council, N.C.Hills, Govt. of Assam, is a period-piece on a folk hero of the nineteenth century, Shambhudhan Phonglowsa, of North Cachar Hills (now known as Dima Hasao district) who fought against British Invasion and died a martyr's death. The movie is directed by Korak Ghosh & Partha Pratim Moitra. But unfortunately this movie shot in super-8 format (Community Participation of Dimassa tribe) the self reversal rush got damaged and almost destroyed due to mishandling and rough use by Customs Department. A number of European actors and actresses participated in this movie in British roles.
Partha Pratim Moitra is the person, who initiated first private daily audio-visual news Sangbad Aajkaal, for Bengali Television. He has worked in many activists video and non-fictions in last few decades. He also produced a number of non-fiction Television series like Apor Bangla, Courtroom, Shreemati, Durga Rahasya etc. He is now initiating a newer form of Participatory Video in Kolkata. He is working to Demystify Cine-Elitism, Deconstruct Cine- aesthetics, Decentralize Cine- Technology. At present he is in Search of Creative, Anarchic, & Participatory Cinema.
