The Papua New Guinea national rugby sevens team represents Papua New Guinea in rugby sevens. The team competes in the Oceania Sevens, where they finished third in 2009, and fourth in 2010, 2015 and 2016.

Contents

The team has also entered select World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments as wildcrd. The team has been invited to the Wellington Sevens in 2000, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2017. The team has also been invited at the 2000 Fiji Sevens, 2000 Brisbane Sevens, 2000 Tokyo Sevens, 2010 Adelaide Sevens, 2011 Adelaide Sevens, 2011 Gold Coast Sevens and 2017 Sydney Sevens. At the 2011 Gold Coast Sevens, PNG won over Niue and Japan to take 13th place.

Papua New Guinea has also played the Hong Kong Sevens World Series qualifier. In the 2015 edition, they went undefeated to the semifinals, where they lost to Russia. In 2016 they lost all matches in the group phase. The team has qualified for 2017 edition.

PNG qualified for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. So far PNG has yet to qualify for a Sevens World Cup.
