Production
Production of the film commenced in Chennai followed by major sequences being shot in places in and around Ooty. The title and motion poster of the film were unveiled through a unique Cleaning campaign conducted for five weeks in Chennai.
Papparapaam traces the life of a man who wakes up at his funeral. Being a fictional biography, it depicts the life of the protagonist from 1974 to 2016. Sasikumaran who is debuting as director with Papparapaam, is also the writer of Santosh Sivan's critically acclaimed hit Tamil film, Urumi (film).
