Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela (English: University of the City of Valenzuela), also known as PLV, is a state-owned public university located in Valenzuela, Philippines. The university was established on June 5, 2002. PLV is a member of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities.

Started as an initiative by high school principals in Valenzuela, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela initially located at a government building within the vicinity of the old municipal complex of Valenzuela. In 2008, the city government bought a parcel of land near Children of Mary Immaculate College and expanded its offerings from the original eight courses to 19 courses.
History
In response to the increasing need of Valenzuelanos for an affordable, accessible and reputable institution of higher learning, a study group was formed in July 2001.
The Study Group was initially composed of Dr. Jose R. Vergara then Acting Division Superintendent Dr. Andres M. Leabres, City Administrator Atty. Carmelita D. Lozada, Mr. Edison M. Nalo, Executive Director of Valenzuela Polytechnic College and Mr. Erlindo C. Dionisio and Atty. Antonio M. Dalag, the Vice-president and President of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela. This group was later joined by the principals of public and secondary schools in the city, namely:
On June 5, 2002, the City Council of Valenzuela approved Ordinance No. 14 that paved the way for the creation of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela.
On June 24, 2002, PLV formally opened its door to freshmen. The academic programs offered were Bachelor of Science in Engineering ( Electrical Engineering), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Management, Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Major in English, Filipino, Science and Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Bachelor of Science in Public Administration.
After four years the university offered a new course, the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Physical Science, and divided the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Management into three major courses (Financial Management, Marketing Management and Human Resource and Personnel Management). They bought an annex building in accordance to the City Council Resolution No. 194 Series of 2008 located at Maysan Road, Malinta, Valenzuela for the benefit of more high school graduates in Valenzuela City. The annex building houses the colleges of Business Administration, Accountancy, and Public Administration. In 2010, the university offered the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor Arts in Communication Arts. The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela is under the administration of Dr. Nedeña C. Torralba.
Colleges
The university is divided into several colleges administered by two college deans. Most of the departments are offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. Each department is headed by a coordinator.
Special programs
Supreme Student Council
Supreme Student Council is the superior student organization of the Pamantasan. The elected President of the SSC will become the Student regent to the Board of Regents of the Pamantsan led by the chairman of the board the honorable Mayor of the city of Valenzuela.
