Palletooru is a 1952 Telugu film directed by Tatineni Prakash Rao (debut). This Silver Jubilee film initiated a trend of films with rural settings and social themes. "Cheyetti Jai Kottu Telugoda", a patriotic song by Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, was very popular in the period shortly after independence.

Plot

Chandram (NTR) is the hero with reformist ideas. He works against the moneylender Ganapathy (SV Ranga Rao) and Kondaiah (Nagabhushanam). Finally, after a long legal battle, Chandram fights for farmers and their rights and does not hesitate to go to jail.
