Palaquium rioense is a tree in the Sapotaceae family. It grows up to 40 metres (130 ft) tall. The bark is brown. The flowers are brownish. The fruits are obovoid, up to 2 cm (1 in) long. The specific epithet rioense refers to Sumatra's Riau province. Habitat is hill and montane forests from 300 metres (1,000 ft) to 1,500 metres (5,000 ft) altitude. P. rioense is found in Riau and Borneo.
