History
Built in 1980 and named after the country singer Emmylou Harris, the PS Emmylou has been host to thousands of people, delighting even her namesake during the late 1980s. Alongside the PS Pevensey, the PS Emmylou starred in the TV series All the Rivers Run in which she was renamed the PS Providence.
She is powered by a beautifully restored 1906 Marshall and Sons steam engine.
Modern Day
The PS Emmylou, like The Pride of the Murray and PS Canberra, operates as a tourist attraction in Echuca operated by Murray River Paddlesteamers.
PS Emmylou operates every day of the year except Christmas day. Enjoy a morning or afternoon tea cruise or take a leisurely two hour lunch cruise dining at our on-board restaurant, Redgums on PS Emmylou.
Emmylou also departs for regular 1, 2 and 3 night cruises along the Murray River with 9 comfortable cabins accommodating 18 guests. These fully inclusive cruises provide guests a truly unique Australian experience.
The PS Emmylou is one of the only wood fired paddlesteamer in the world offering regular overnight cruising. Fuelled by redgum logs the Emmylou exudes old-world charm whilst offering modern luxury.
