Oxyporhamphus micropterus is a species of halfbeak found in the tropical oceans. Some sources elevate the two subspecies to species rank. It is in a monotypic genus.

Species

There are currently two recognized subspecies in this genus:

  • Oxyporhamphus micropterus micropterus (Valenciennes, 1847) (Bigwing halfbeak)
  • Oxyporhamphus micropterus similis Bruun, 1935 (False halfbeak)
