Overview

Teaching is based on the tutorial system employed by Oxford and Cambridge Universities, with tuition taking place on a one-to-one basis, or in pairs. The school has a particular emphasis on international students, who are given assistance with visa applications and provided with special courses on adapting to study in the UK.

Students stay with local families as part of a 'homestay' or in a new hall of residence.

Academic achievement is very high. Results for the A-level programme in 2007 were: 87% grade A, 98% grade A/B, with 100% grade A-C.

The first campus in China of Oxford International College was established in Chengdu, China in 2011. The second campus in China was set up in Changzhou, China in 2012. Both of them are boarding schools focusing on providing Chinese students with a high-standard British education.

Oxford International College of Chengdu is located in Chenghua District of Chengdu, open to both Chinese and foreign students.

Oxford International College of Changzhou is also open to Chinese and foreign students. Both were founded in cooperation with BE Education Ltd with strong support from the local governments, including the Wujin and Changzhou Governments.

Oxford International College Shanghai was an affiliated school.

Currently, the Principal of the school is Dr. Mario Peters.
