Ousala Aleem (born July 3, 1982), also known as Prestley Snipes and FD, Platinum selling and Grammy Nominated songwriter, filmmaker, director, producer, entertainment manager, photographer and entrepreneur. As a filmmaker and director for over 15 years, Ousala has worked with some of music's top artists and has 4 RIAA certified gold and platinum plaques to his credit. Ousala is best known for his independent film Criminals Gone Wild and for introducing ILoveMakonnen to the music scene.

Early life

Aleem was born in Brooklyn, New York. He started in the entertainment business through his uncles Taharqa Aleem and Tunde Ra Aleem, who have worked with Jimi Hendrix, New Kids On The Block, and Wu Tang Clan. In 2004, Ousala attended Brooklyn Public Network in Brooklyn, New York and released a public access show called FDTV. In 2005, Ousala released his first independent film titled "FDTV: Volume One". In 2007, Ousala released his second independent film titled Criminals Gone Wild.

Ousala appeared on The O'Reilly Factor on December 12, 2007 in response to his film Criminals Gone Wild. Ousala was also featured on several CNN segments regarding Criminals Gone Wild in 2007. In 2014, while managing the career of ILoveMakonnen, Ousala was featured in a Billboard video segment called My City: Atlanta | The Juice. Ousala was also featured in HBO series Vice (magazine)'s Noisey music documentary titled "Noisey Atlanta - The Psychedelic and Bizarre World of iLoveMakonnen".

Entrepreneur

In September 2009, Aleem started web-based media company ILP Network, LLC and launched ilpvideo.com. In 2015, during a WQHT radio interview, producer Sonny Digital credits ILP as the website where he discovered ILoveMakonnen's music, which led to their 2014 collaboration on the Platinum selling and Grammy Awards Nominated Tuesday (ILoveMakonnen song), which later featured Drake.

Music industry

In 2014, Ousala moved to Los Angeles to sign a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell. Ousala has worked with many top producers and artists including Drake, Mike Will Made It, Zaytoven, Polow Da Don, Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital, ILoveMakonnen, 2 Chainz, Noah "40" Shebib, Cap1, DJ Spinz, Dun Deal, Soulja Boy, Shawty Lo, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Wayne Wonder, Rae Sremmurd, Trinidad James, Safaree Samuels, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Neo Da Matrix and many more. He earned his first platinum plaque, with Drake, while managing and developing ILoveMakonnen. In 2015, Ousala was nominated for a Grammy Award for his co-writing, production and publishing contribution on the Tuesday (ILoveMakonnen song). In 2016, Ousala was honored at the 29th Annual ASCAP Rhythm And Soul Music Awards for Tuesday (ILoveMakonnen song), which was among the top ASCAP songs on the 2015 year-end charts.

Reception

"Tuesday" received critical acclaim from music critics, appearing on several year-end top 10 lists. In the track review, Patrick Fallon concluded "Somehow, this summertime sleeper hit has become a self-fulfilling prophecy: iLoveMakonnen worked tirelessly to get to this point in his career, and now with a proper success... he can finally party like it's a Tuesday." "Tuesday" placed second in the magazine's year-end list. The song was also named 2nd best song of 2014 by Spin, noting "There's never been a radio hit quite like it before, with the cadence and brio of hip-hop, the musicality and patience of R&B — good R&B, at that — and the strobe-lit sonics and spaciousness of EDM." It was also listed at number 21 on Fader's list of the 116 best tracks of the year. In January 2015, "Tuesday" was ranked at number six on The Village Voice 's annual year-end Pazz & Jop critics' poll. The remix featuring Drake received a nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.
