Oskar Dienstbach (30 September 1910 in Usingen – 18 October 1945) was a German concentration camp physician and SS officer. He worked as a warehouse and chief medical officer (German: Lager- und Standortarzt) in several Nazi concentration camps.

Biography

Oskar Dienstbach, a medical doctor, joined the NSDAP (Nazi Party) in May 1933 (member Nr. 2,400,092) and in mid-June 1933, the SS (SS-Nr. 101,741). After the outbreak of the Second World War, Dienstbach was from November 1939 to April 1940 a member of the Wehrmacht and then transferred to the Waffen-SS. Dienstbach reached the rank of SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer In the Waffen-SS by 1943.

From 1940, Dienstbach worked as a camp doctor in Sachsenhausen concentration camp, and from the end of January 1941, in Mauthausen concentration camp. From the beginning of May 1941, he served as a medical officer in Flossenburg concentration camp and in the same capacity from 30 September 1941 to 2 March 1942 in Auschwitz concentration camp. Subsequently, he was deployed to the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. After the war in Europe ended, Dienstbach died on 18 October 1945 in a prisoner-of-war camp.
