Osama Jabbar Shafeeq Rashid (Arabic: اسامه جبار شفيق رشيد; born 17 January 1992 in Kirkuk, Iraq) is an Iraqi professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Santa Clara in the LigaPro, and Iraq national football team.

Osama rashid
Youth career

Osama spent more than a decade with the youth setup of Feyenoord where he was part of one the most promising crop of players to ever graduate from the academy in recent years. Other graduates included Stefan de Vrij , Jordy Clasie , Bruno Martins Indi , and Luc Castaignos amongst others. Osama suffered an Injury in the 2009 UEFA European Under-17 Championship which prevented him from training with the first which he believes affected his chances with the first team Osama was not offered a professional contract once he turned 18 years old and therefore did not continue his career with Feyenoord.
FC Den Bosch

Osama signed for Den Bosch following his release from Feyenoord. Osama played the 2011/1s season in the Eerste Divisie, the second division of professional football in the Netherlands. Osama played 12 times scoring twice. Den Bosch finished sixth in the league and failed to qualify to the Eredivisie. Osama left Den Bosch at the end of the season.
Trial at Werder Bremen

Former coach of Iraq Wolfgang Sidka arranged a trial for Osama at Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. He was invited for another trial and was ultimately offered a contract , which he turned down in order to finish his studies.
Excelsior Maassluis

Looking for more game time, Osama signed for Third tier side Excelsior Maassluis for the 2012/13 season. Osama played 20 times scoring five in the league.
Alphense Boys

Osama Signed for Alphense Boys in the fifth tier of dutch football. Playing 34 times, scoring 15 goals. He left the club at the end of the 2014/15 season to join SC Farense in Portugal.
SC Farense
Osama signed for SC Farense in the Portuguese second division. He made his debut on August Eight 2015 Vs Académico Viseu. Osama scored his first goal VS Covilhã in Matchday Seven. Osama was a stable in the team as he played 41 times, scoring six times.
Lokomotiv Plovdiv
Osama finally got his share of top flight football after signing for Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv. He made his debut as a late substitute Vs Slavia Sofia on matchday three. Osama left Bulgaria quickly as he failed to adjust to life there and Joined C.D. Santa Clara. Returning once again to Portugal.
Santa Clara
Osama Rashid joined Santa Clara on 24 January 2017. He made his debut for Santa Clara as a second half substitute in the February 12th match Vs Gil Vicente.He had his first start on February 15 against Cova Piedade, he also scored his first goal for the club on the same match which ended 2-0. The team finished the season in 10th position, and missed out on promotion. In the start of the following season, Osama scored in his first match of the season in both the cup and the league. He then scored two more goals in the following two games.
Netherlands youth setup
Having moved to the Netherlands as a child, Osama was eligible and played for the Netherlands U17 team. Representing them 11 times.He was part of the squad that played the 2009 UEFA European Under-17 Championship where he reached the final of the tournament but lost to Germany. Osama went on to make two appearances for the dutch U19 team.
Iraqi national team
Under the management of legendary Brazilian Zico .Osama switched allegiance to his birth country of Iraq and made his debut in a 6-0 defeat Vs Brazil. He was called up to the 2015 Asian championships in Australia Where Iraq finished 4th.

Osama has a degree in Sports Marketing, and is a fan of Spanish club Real Madrid
