Orro

Orro is a village in the Nardiganj block of the Nawada district in the state of Bihar, India. The total population of this village is approximately 10000. Orro is 20 km from the famous pilgrimage town of Rajgir. The main crop of Orro is paddy, wheat, corn and potatoes. The ORRO RAILWAY STATION is in the west of the Village. It connects Rajgir and Tilaya(hiusa) station.

Orro is surrounded by Jafra, Bikku, Shahajpura, Jagdeeshpur, Bhelu bigha, and Bastibigha villages.

Main festival of Orro village is Lakshmi Pooja, Sarasawati Pooja, Ganesh Pooja. A Lakhsmi Mandir was established in 1935 by Dr. Madhusudan Mishra, a renowned social worker and medical practitioner of the village. Dr. Mishra was founder of the Middle School and High school of the village as well as Manindra Sarswati Pustkalaya and other social institutions. In establishing these institution great contributions of his elder son Dr. Surendra Prasad Mishra (Pradhanacharya) is praiseworthy.

    In Orro there are various schools such as a primary, middle and a high school. Orro high school, orro (Now +2, From 2010) is the only high school for neighbouring villages.

    Orro has been known for its rich educational background for producing great scholars like Pandit Prasidh Narayan Mishra (gold medalist, vyakarnacharya) and Pandit Singheswara Mishra (Gold medalist, nyayacharya).
