OrganizedWisdom History
Initially, OrganizedWisdom focused on improving health search results by employing human editors to review websites and write WisdomCards (or search engine results pages) that include text listings, as well as other media, such as photos and video. Each OrganizedWisdom WisdomCard included links to the top five sites, as well as other categorized information, and additional web pages. The company differentiated itself from algorithmic search engines like Google, as well as other directory sites like DMOZ and Yahoo by tracking and building hand-crafted result sets for many of the currently popular health search terms.
OrganizedWisdom's approach was similar to Mahalo.com's strategy, except that OrganizedWisdom focuses exclusively on health related search terms and employs physician reviewers into its training and review process. OrganizedWisdom had over 10,000 WisdomCards in over 50 health categories within its WisdomCard Library.
In 2010, OrganizedWisdom created Digital Offices for health professionals to save them time, increase their web presence, and improve patient education before, during, and after an office visit. OrganizedWisdom launched Startup Health in 2011 and began offering health startups access to its technology, mentorship, and growing health community, including investors, entrepreneurs, and seasoned business minds such as board members, Jerry Levin and Esther Dyson.
