Oreoluwa Lesi is a Nigerian, UK trained economist and IT expert. She is the founder and executive director of Women's Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC), a non-profit organisation that empowers women and girls socially and economically through education in Information technology. W.TEC was established in the year 2008. She is a fellow of Ashoka.Ore is also a recipient of ABIE Award Winners, Change Agent.

Oreoluwa graduated from Essex University, UK with bachelor's degree in Economics. She obtained master's degree in analysis, design and management of Information Technology from London School of Economics and Political Sciences. She has certificate in Applied Sciences from Harvard University Extension School. Lesi, worked with Lonadek Oil and Gas Consultancy in the UK, where she managed Lonake CSR-Initiative-2020. In United States, she worked on research projects at Education Development Centre (EDC). After her sojourn abroad, she returned to Nigeria in the year 2005. She got married to Gboyega Lesi on the 30, April 2014 at Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.

Early life

Oreoluwa started her early life in Nigeria. Her father is an electrical engineer and she fell in love with technology from childhood. At early age, she developed a software application that was used to run her parent bookshop.

Education

After her years in high school at Queen's College, Lagos, she studied diploma course in computer programming. She proceeded to United Kingdom where she studied economics and graduated with bachelor's degree in economics from University of Essex, UK. She also obtained, master's degree in analysis, design and management information from London School of Economics and Political Sciences. Through her NGO, she has touched live of 12000 girls in Nigeria. She studied Applied Sciences at Harvard University Extension School

Career

In the UK, she worked with Lonadek Oil and Gas Consultancy where she managed CSR Initiative-2020.She also worked with EDC in the United State on research project.She returned to Nigeria in the year 2005 She established W.TEC in the year 2008. She was honored as fellow of Ashoka in 2013. In 2009,She bagged ABIE Award Winners, Change Agent.
