Convergent evolution in the antennae of a cerambycid beetle onychocerus albitarsis and the sting
Onychocerus albitarsis is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Pascoe in 1859. A white, russet and black longhorn, it is remarkable for being the only insect which can deliver a poisonous sting from its antennae, whose ends have evolved to resemble a scorpion's tail. It is found in Brazil.
