Origins and history

The Onepiece is the brainchild of three Norwegians in their twenties – Thomas Adams, Henrik Norstrud and Knut Gresvig. The idea behind the brand came to in 2007 when the three of them fantasized about the ultimate chill-out wear on a hung-over Sunday – perfect for the lazy days at home. By simply sewing together a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants, connecting the two with a giant zipper, they created the first original Onepiece jumpsuit. An instant success amongst Scandinavians, Onepiece onesies became a huge hit in Norway in 2009 and later in Sweden and the UK despite only being fueled by blogs & social media.

Global fashion phenomenon

What started with close friends fantasizing about the ultimate chill-out wear resulted in a world spread Onepiece jumpsuit phenomenon that has been seen on the streets, at the runways and used by the biggest celebrities during the last couple of years. Onepiece onesies were shared by bloggers such as SlinkyStudio.info early on in the companies history and not by the mainstream media. The uniqueness of the clothing led the Onepiece onesie to go viral online and it eventually got picked up by the mainstream media. The Guardian described the brand as "The most coveted Norwegian import since a-ha". The idea has also been copied by other major players in the fashion market making lower end onesies similar in design as the original Norwegian design.

Stores & retailers

Onepiece has opened more than 10 of its own brand stores, including Beverly Hills, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Smögen, Gothenburg, Malmö, Montreal and 2 in London. Onepiece also sells through approx 1000 high end retail stores around the world like Harrods and Selfridges.

Major cooperations

One Direction: Together with UK band One Direction, Onepiece has created ad exclusive 1D Onepiece designed by the boys themselves. In January 2012 one of the original jumpsuits that was used during the design session was auctioned off for charity and raised 10,500 USD.

Angry Birds (Rovio): Onepiece also has the global rights to produce and sell Angry Birds onesies. Angry Birds is the worlds most popular app games with more than 1 billion downloads across all platforms. The Angry Birds Onepiece is sold mainly in kid sizes on the webshop and will be available in major retailers soon.
