Plot
Two young people (Qiao Renliang and Li Xiaolu) are working the night shift at the 24-hour supermarket when mid-aged He Sanshui (Xu Zheng) storms in with stun guns and his doofus cousin (Wang Dongfang). He Sanshui is determined to reclaim his lottery prize that was denied due to a mistake made by the owner. Hilarity ensues when a moronic prankster (Zhao Yingjun), the mean lady boss (Yang Qing, not the director) and an at-large gunman (Zhang Jiayi) enter the mart one after another.
Reception
The film was well received by critics. Derek Elley of Variety calls it a "slickly-made feature debut".
Awards
The film won 2 awards at the China Movie Channel Media Awards held during the 2009 Shanghai International Film Festival. Yang Qing won Favourite Screenwriter and Xu Zheng won Favourite Actor.
At the Locarno International Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland in 2009, it received special mention for the Netpac Jury Award.
