History

Started by several students in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa.. Omega Tau Sigma was initially developed and organized in 1906. The fraternity gradually spread to other Colleges of Veterinary Medicine when students formed chapters at fifteen veterinary schools in the United States and at one such school in Canada. Omega Tau Sigma is the only Veterinary Medical fraternity to have an international reach.

Purpose

Omega Tau Sigma provides a closer relationship outside of the classroom for those students attending Veterinary Medicine programs at universities. The fraternity is open to all students attending a Veterinary Medical program and works to culture high professional ideals and excellent character, as well as the furtherance of the Veterinary profession.

Chapters

The fraternity has had chapters at 16 Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. These include:

1 Epsilon chapter proposed, and constitution drawn up, but GWU dropped the Veterinary School prior to chartering.
