Om Raut (born 21 December 1981) is an Indian writer, director & producer. He is best known for his 2014 movie Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director. The films starred Subodh Bhave, Chinmay Mandlekar & Priya Bapat in the key roles. Om Raut has also produced films like City of Gold (2010 film) and Haunted – 3D.

Career
Om Raut started his career as a child artist in Karamati Coat (1993), directed by Ajay Kartik. The film was given a "laudable mention" at 20th International Children's Film festival, Frankfurt, 1994.
After his successful stint in the MTV Network New York, Om decided to move back to India to be the Vice-President of Creative Business at Valuable Group, who is promoter of UFO Moviez. Om was the creative head in DAR Motion Pictures and was involved in producing critically acclaimed film like City of Gold (2010 film) (Lalbaug Parel in Marathi) & Haunted – 3D, the highest box office opener ever for an Indian horror film. Currently he is working on his next film, details of which will be announced soon. On 9 May, Om Raut launched Light & Sound show on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, Dadar.
Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush
Om Raut started Neena Raut Entertainment in 2012. Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush, Om's dream project, was his directorial debut & also Neena Raut Films' first feature-length production. The film was praised by audience as well as critics. The Times of India gave 4 stars to the film adding "Very rarely does a Marathi film get a standing ovation from the audience and Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush is one of them".
"It was my dream to make a film on Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and therefore, I spent three years into research and planning, though it has taken only seven months to shoot the entire film. My entire team has worked very hard and I am sure, the film will make a great overall success," Om Raut said in an interview with Zee Talkies.
Light and Sound show
On 9 May, Om Raut launched Light & Sound show on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, Dadar. The Light & Sound Show ‘Swatantraveer’ is conceived as well as directed by Om Raut, presented by Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak, Dadar. The Light & Sound Show ‘Swatantraveer’ is a unique beautiful story of a great Indian Freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar through the use of LED Lights, Laser, Sound, Projection. This show, which was India's biggest 3D wall mapping project, was based on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar & his fight for the Independence of India.
