Olivier Attia

Olivier Attia is the founder of Scanbuy, Inc, a global provider of mobile barcodes. He is also the founder of ClickOVA, an application software to back up mobile phone contacts, pictures, and videos automatically. Most recently he served as the CEO of Audionamix Inc., a start-up company aiming to propose solutions for previously unresolvable problems inherent in audio processing.

Early life

Attia worked an Internet specialist, providing consultation services to industry professionals and organizations from 1994 to 1997. He was a Principal Manager in the National Internet Practice division at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, where he provided consulting services focused on e-commerce strategic engagements from 1997 to 2000. Prior to this role, Attia was a consultant at ATOS Group, where he specialized in the integration of new technologies. During his tenure, he developed the first online banking system for a major established bank, participated in the development of several projects in South America including telemedicine and sales force application for Mobile Operators and developed an expertise in control quality. Attia lived in Mexico for two years and helped TELMEX to implement a complete carrier-class sales management platform. Attia holds both a Master's degree in Marketing and an Engineering degree in Information System Management from University Paris, Dauphine. He also earned an honors degree in Physics and Computer Science from University Paris, Pierre et Marie Curie.

Career

Olivier Attia is an entrepreneur responsible for creating a host of technologies throughout his career including Scanbuy. Most recently he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Audionamix, the provider of audio source separation technology focused on serving the entertainment industry.

Audionamix has offices in Paris, Los Angeles, and New York City. In 2011, The company worked with Hans Zimmer to build the musical themes for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Audionamix was also featured in the New York Times for its work on the classic musical West Side Story. In collaboration with the Bernstein Foundation, Audionamix removed the entire musical score allowing for a live orchestra to accompany the film and creating a new theater cinema event that was performed in Los Angeles, New York, and most recently Chicago. In 2010, ADX’s proprietary services were used to eliminate the vuvuzela from broadcasts of the FIFA World Cup. Under Attia’s leadership, Audionamix has also built an ecosystem of partnerships to further enhance its position in source separation solutions in both Los Angeles and New York. Some of these partnerships include APM Music, XTracks, Deluxe Audio, and the Production Plant. Some of Audionamix’ clients include: Warner Bros. Studios, NBC/Universal, CBS, MGM, Warner Music Group, and Warner Bros. Animation.

In 2006, Attia founded ClickOVA, a mobile platform for automatic backup of mobile phone content. After one year in research and development, ClickOVA was launched and distributed, over a two-year period with over 260,000 active users in 193 countries. Attia attained his knowledge of the mobile carrier market during his years at SCANBUY Inc., a software company that he founded in 2000, and acted as the Chief Executive Officer until 2006. At SCANBUY, Inc., Attia created and launched the first barcode scanning software technology, integrated for camera-based cellular phones named Breakout Company of 2005 by Fortune Magazine and Top 100 Companies of 2006 by Red Herring. During his tenure at SCANBUY, Attia was interviewed on FOX News about mobile technology. Attia has spoken at several conferences including CTIA Wireless, NextMedia and Forbes Conference about new challenges in wireless technology.

Notable work

In 2011, Attia and the Audionamix team had the opportunity to work with Leonard Bernstein on a unique screening of West Side Story. Using Voice Isolation, Music Dissociation, and Dialogue Isolation services, Attia and the Audionamix team provided the original dialogue and effects composite with a cappella singing to project during the live performance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Using Stem Separation services, the Audionamix team provided BluWave Audio with individual instruments for Psycho’s 50th Anniversary collectors edition Blu-ray. Audionamix provided BluWave Audio with a discrete 5.1 split music mix. The partnership between Audionamix and BluWave Audio merited a bonus section on the Blu-ray release and the film was selected for a special screening at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
